Liverpool find PERFECT Arne Slot star to replace Alexis Mac Allister

Liverpool could lose Alexis Mac Allister this summer but they've found the ideal star to replace him.

There are concerns at Liverpool that Real Madrid are going to push forward on a move for Alexis Mac Allister. Now, the Reds are in a strong position and there are plenty of years left on the Argentine's deal but no one wants to see a star's head get turned.

And so Liverpool are braced for some trouble this summer. News from Spain suggests that Los Blancos are talking about Mac Allister in transfer meetings right now - a pretty strong sign that they're going to make some sort of push.

Liverpool, then, will need to prepare themselves. We've all been here before, with a major side hoping to nudge and pressure a move out of thin air for one of the club's best players.

Again, the Reds have this one under control but there's no question that they'll need to have an eye on potential replacements. Just in case things do get a little out of hand.

Fortunately, they may have found the ideal replacement.

Liverpool watch Orkun Kokcu

Record reports that Liverpool have their eyes on Benfica's Orkun Kokcu. This is one that simply refuses to go away - and for good reason.

Kokcu was the start of Arne Slot's Eredivisie-winning Feyenoord team, captaining the side to glory that year. He promptly moved to Portugal but Liverpool immediately looked into a deal last year.

That didn't come to fruition, of course, as the Reds targeted Martin Zubimendi for their midfield. That didn't happen either.

But the club certainly still have their eyes on midfielders, both to try and improve the current crop and in case of exits. Kokcu is one of those who remain on the shortlist.

Now, we don't expect a move to happen. Mac Allister to Real Madrid is still a long, long way off right now, and Liverpool's strong negotiating position makes a deal difficult to do.

There's also no suggestion that Mac Allister is chasing a move away. And without that part, nothing really happens.

But anything can happen in football and if there is change this summer, Kokcu is a potential signing. One to keep an eye on - not just this summer but going forward at Liverpool.
