Liverpool Transfer News: Reds could FINALLY end agonising nine year wait to complete MASSIVE deal
Regardless of how the team is performing on the pitch, Liverpool are constantly scouting players.
The best teams never sit on their laurels, always striving to improve by bringing in new recruits to keep the team ticking over.

As such, even though Liverpool are on a 20-game unbeaten streak across all competitions at the moment, transfer speculation is rife.
Arne Slot has so far worked with the squad that Jurgen Klopp compiled after a quiet summer, he is yet to really stamp his image on the team with new personnel, so Liverpool's executives are working tirelessly to ensure the Dutchman receives all the assistance he needs.
Be it a new striker to replace the under-performing Darwin Nunez or a new defensive midfielder to help relinquish Ryan Gravenberch of his phenomenal workload, the club are on it in terms of keeping the team going at its optimal level.
However, Andy Robertson needs help more so than anyone else in the team, and one player linked with a move to Anfield has been on the club's radar for a number of years. Perhaps now it might finally come to fruition.
Liverpool's long-term admiration of Alphonso Davies
When you sit back and consider the stand-out full-backs in world football, Alphonso Davies is a name that comes to the fore.
The Canadian left-back has been playing at an incredible level for a number of years now, be it using his lightning pace to assist in Bayern Munich's attacks, or keeping forwards locked up down his side of the pitch, Davies is one of the best.
And don't Liverpool know it? An MLS report from 2016, when Davies was just 15 years old, mentioned Liverpool as one of the clubs alongside Manchester United to be keeping tabs on the player while he was starting his career at the Vancouver Whitecaps.
But a move didn't quite happen. He remained in Canada until 2019 when Bayern Munich made their move on him, bringing him to Germany for £8.8m.
Liverpool instead went on to bring Robertson into the club, and Trent Alexander-Arnold was promoted from the academy to play as Liverpool's senior right-back, the pair becoming some of the most iconic defenders of the 21st century, redefining what it meant to be a full-back.
However, now that contract talks with Bayern have collapsed, it appears that Davies is set to become a free transfer at the end of the season, and Liverpool are interested in finally bringing him in to become their long-term left-back as Robertson begins to near the end of his time on Merseyside.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool are interested, but 'a move to Anfield is considered an unlikely outcome at present', whereas journalist Christian Falk is reporting for CaughtOffside that 'Liverpool could get a meeting with him' when his agent tours England.
The now 24-year-old would be a ready-made player that Liverpool could bring seamlessly into the team, although a number of other potential left-back options are also being considered at the moment.
