Liverpool WON'T stop at just £150m Alexander Isak
Liverpool won't stop at signing Alexander Isak. There's a lot more to come from the Reds this summer.
Liverpool are planning a statement summer. The Reds have little choice, admittedly, with three superstar players all out of contract.

On top of that, there are doubts over Ibrahima Konate's future as he enters the final year of his own contract. And then there's the big overhaul.
Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool want to overhaul their attack, shipping off nearly everyone and rebuilding it. After all, this isn't an attack signed by the current people in charge.
They want Arne Slot to have the players for his system. While Jurgen Klopp's midfield and defence has translated wonderfully well to the new boss, the same can't be said for the forwards.
Whether Mo Salah leaves or not, there needs to be change - and it's coming.
One player who makes all the sense in the world for Liverpool is Alexander Isak. The Newcastle United forward is a phenomenon and someone the Reds have had eyes on for years now.
Signing him is another matter, of course. The Mirror claims Newcastle would want £150m to sell their prized asset - but Liverpool may be open to that. The Times reports there's a growing interest.

We'd love to see Isak arrive, of course. He's an incredible player and would boost the Reds immeasurably.
But he won't be all that's coming.
Liverpool and Alexander Isak
There's next to no chance that Alexander Isak is the only arrival this summer. There are a couple of reasons for that.
Firstly, the sheer number of players Liverpool are looking to move on. If Darwin Nunez heads to Saudi Arabia, Luis Diaz to Barcelona and Diogo Jota to whoever offers the most, the Reds are done in numbers.

As good as Isak is, he can't fill the void left by three top players.
But there's another concern. Liverpool won't put all their eggs in Isak's basket because he isn't actually reliable enough.
We don't mean in front of goal - he's fantastic at that. Instead, it's in how often he plays.
Isak played 44 per cent of the total Premier League minutes available in his first season (although, he did arrive after the season had started). That improved in his second campaign but was still only 65%.
The year before he joined Newcastle was a problem, too. He played 62 per cent of the minutes for Real Sociedad. The season before that, 68 per cent.

Now, the numbers are up this season (81 per cent) but the fact is, Isak usually plays around two-thirds of the time. It's not really enough for him to be the driving force of your attack.
But again, this isn't anyone saying Liverpool shouldn't move for Isak. He still scored 21 goals last season even if he missed a third of the gametime.
He just can't be the only arrival. If Liverpool are overhauling that forward line, Isak should be the diamond, rather than the foundation. Another big signing must arrive alongside him.
