Alexander Isak just proved he's worth every penny of INSANE price tag
Liverpool are set for one of the biggest transfer windows in the club’s history this summer.
An era-defining overhaul of Arne Slot’s squad is incoming, and Alexander Isak could be marquee signing at Anfield.

The Reds have been linked with pretty much every top striker in Europe, but Isak is the name that excites many fans the most.
The Swede has 30 goal involvements in 36 appearances for Newcastle this season, helping the Magpies to win their first major domestic trophy in 70 years.
As such it is no surprise to see the 25-year-old lauded as the best option to be Liverpool’s new striker. Isak could be so much more than that, however.
Alexander Isak: more than a goal scorer
The news of Mohamed Salah’s contract extension came as a delight to all Liverpool supporters, and it means that the Premier League’s most prolific forward will remain a Red for at least another season.
Pairing Isak with Salah, arguably the two best forwards in the country, would be a masterstroke from Richard Hughes.
Not only would it make the Reds’ front-line one of the most formidable in the history of world football, but it could also take Salah to the next level.
Isak is a scorer of fine goals, but he can create them too. He proved as much in Newcastle’s 4-1 win over Manchester United on Sunday when he provided a beautiful assist for Sandro Tonali.
Slotâs current crop of players are capable of providing easy-on-the-eye assists too, but it is hard to argue that Salah wouldnât flourish with that kind of service.
Isak could be Liverpool’s best playmaker
The Reds are set to lose one of the best playmakers in Europe this summer when Trent Alexander-Arnold departs the club at the end of his current contract.
Trent could of course still re-sign with the Reds, but that seems unlikely at this point.
In the absence of Alexander-Arnold, Slot will be looking for a new playmaker to prop-up Liverpool’s attack – and Isak could be that man.

We aren’t the only ones who think so either. Speaking exclusively to Anfield Watch, Swedish football writer Maxi Angelo highlighted exactly how Isak might fit in at Anfield.
“I think that Isak would kind of be more of a linking forward.” Angelo told Anfield Watch. “At Liverpool you can see it - whether you sign Isak or not - you adapt to play to Mohamed Salah because he’s the big star and the best player.
“I think you have to play to your best players’ strength, and I think Isak would do a great job with that.”
Would Isak be a traditional striker at Liverpool?
It is impossible to say exactly how Slot would utilise Isak, but an educated guess can be made.
Whilst Isak would be responsible for tucking away chances in the box, he would also be expected to create chances for the Reds’ wide players – probably Salah and Cody Gakpo.
One way the Swede could fulfil this expectation would be to drop deeper and operate somewhere between where you would expect the traditional no.9 and no.10 to play.
This is something Isak already has in his locker. He does it for the Swedish national team.
"In the national team, [Jon Dahl Tomasson] has played [Isak] as a number 10 quite a few times because he thinks [Isak] can fill that role very well,” Angelo told Anfield Watch.
It’s unlikely that Isak would be deployed as a traditional no.10, with a striker in front of him, for Liverpool – but he may be asked to drop back slightly to facilitate Salah and Gakpo.
A deal for Alexander Isak
The big problem with Isak to Liverpool is the transfer fee that Newcastle are likely to demand.
Figures as high as £180 million have been quoted, but the Reds have a number of players who could be included in a swap deal, and Isak may be well worth the money.
Darwin Nunez, Slot’s current no.9, has become renowned for missing big chances. Isak simply would not make the same mistakes at Anfield and Salah’s numbers would explode with an elite finisher and creator playing alongside him.
The Reds’ perceived most likely alternative to Isak is Hugo Ekitike, but recent reports suggest his price tag may now have broken the €100m mark – so it might be worth spending the extra on Isak.
Liverpool will more than likely have to break their record transfer fee to secure Isak’s services, but this summer will be era-defining and there arguably hasn’t ever been a better time to smash the transfer record.

A deal for Isak would be expensive, but the Swede’s ability to create goals as well as score them would make him well worth the money – and his arrival would take Mo Salah, and Liverpool as a whole, to the next level.

What a pointless article. Isak would improve any team, but he's improving Newcastle. He's got a long contract there and Howe has got him playing great football. Newcastle won't be selling him and they'll spend this summer, and look likely to get CL football. Liverpool will have to settle for somene else to feed Salah
