Liverpool could make some dramatic changes to their forward line in 2025. Their dream strikers are lying there waiting.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League right now but there is a sense that things could be even better. After all, they've done that without a reliable centre forward.

Darwin Nunez has his sensational moments but he's about as far from reliable as it gets. Give him an open goal from six yards out and it's far from a guarantee that the net ripples.

Diogo Jota is unreliable for entirely different reasons. When he's on the pitch, few players are better in front of goal - his problem is that getting him on the pitch is a genuine struggle.

We're seeing that right now, in fact, as he returned with a goal after a long absence only to immediately pick up another problem. Who knows when he'll be back?

And the real pain here is that both of these forwards have had the same issues since joining Liverpool. The problems won't go away, that much is clear, and the club must move on if they want reliability up top.

We all year for the days of Roberto Firmino, of course, and that's the level we'd like to return to. Fortunately, Liverpool should have their chance this summer.

Liverpool's dream strikers

Well, first and foremost - Liverpool apparently want Alexander Isak. That's the line from Football Transfers and it's an exciting one.

There is no better available centre-forward right now. Isak is the best striker in the Premier League on current form, winning the Premier League Player of the Month for December (even if that's an award that should have gone to Mo Salah).

FT makes it clear that Isak isn't going to be a January signing for anyone, though. Mundo Deportivo then double-down on that by saying it's 'impossible' that the Swede heads anywhere in January.

Importantly, Arsenal appear to be moving on from Isak, too. FT claim they're a main rival for Liverpool but there are now reports that they're in talks over Benjamin Sesko - and they're not signing both.

Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool also like Sesko but in a 'monitoring the situation' kind of way. There's no big push to sign him - he'd be an alternative to other deals.

Like Isak, for instance.

But he's not the only one. Joao Pedro is a player we love and Liverpool reportedly want to sign him. However, a January move isn't on the cards.

Football Insider is one of those reporting that Pedro would move in the summer. Liverpool must wait if they want him.

And that's okay! It's unlikely that Liverpool want to disrupt too much right now by selling and buying key players. This summer, though, things may change dramatically with Salah, Nunez and Luis Diaz all linked exits.

That would free up both the cash and space to make some major deals happen. And the perfect pair of strikers will still be waiting for them.
