Liverpool transfer latest: Reds find the one to REPLACE Virgil van Dijk as star refuses new contract
Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Richard Hughes is planning some high profile departures with the likes of Darwin Nunez all ready to be shipped out.
Nunez is not alone at risk of being sold from the club's attacking line-up. Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota could also both depart for pastures new.
Isak would make sense for Liverpool as the next step in the metamorphosis of the team under Arne Slot and it seems like he would be open to a move to Anfield.
Alexander Isak opens door to Liverpool move
Recently, a clip of Alexander Isak talking to Sky Sports has resurfaced on social media. Isak is asked about the best atmosphere he has experienced in the Premier League outside of St James' Park and his answer sheds a light on his true feelings about Liverpool.
"Anfield is good," Isak says in the video. "It's very good."
Since then, a report has emerged from TEAMtalk which claims that Isak would be open to a move to Liverpool in order to win trophies and continue to play regularly in the Champions League.
Put two and two together and what would otherwise have seemed like an unlikely transfer is now a door wide ajar for Liverpool.
Isak's comments and the report from above have blown that door open. There are still a lot of things to figure out in terms of the practicalities of the deal and how Liverpool would be able to sanction such a big move.
However, if Isak's desire is there, sometimes a player can have a big say on his future.
Liverpool clearly need to add more attackers to their line-up if the flurry of departures happens at Anfield in the summer. Isak alone will cost a lot of money. Newcastle won't let him go on the cheap.
But if there is a room to bring him in and add more depth still this is the move to make for the Reds.
