EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ready to spend whatever it takes to sign €65m record breaker
Anfield Watch exclusively revealed that the Reds are preparing for a summer overhaul of their front line, with Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez all potential casualties.
This clear out, combined with the possibility of Mo Salah leaving for free at the end of his contract, will leave Liverpool in dire need of attacking reinforcements.
Now it’s being reported that Slot’s side are preparing to shell out a club record fee to secure the services of one of the world’s best.
Liverpool preparing club record bid for Alexander Isak
According to a report from Fichajes, Liverpool are preparing a bid of €130 million for Alexander Isak, the man they have chosen to be the face of their summer rebuild.
That colossal fee would smash the club’s record transfer fee paid, €85 million for Darwin Nunez in 2022, it would also make Isak the most expensive player in Premier League history, beating the €121 million Chelsea paid for Enzo Fernandes in 2023.

A bid of this size isn’t commonplace for Liverpool but the Reds have splashed the cash before.
The deal that saw Virgil van Dijk arrive at Anfield was at the time a record fee for a defender, and Liverpool also made Alisson the most expensive goalkeeper ever – albeit only for a very short while.
Liverpool supporters will also remember the fabled deal worth over £100 million that fell through for Moises Caicedo in 2023.
Could Isak really be heading to Liverpool?
A record bid isn’t beyond the realms of possibility, especially for a player who could be as transformational as Isak.
The Swedish forward boasts an impressive 24 goal involvements in 29 games this season and, at only 25-years-old, looks set to be one of the top strikers in Europe for the remainder of the decade.
Patience is wearing thin with Nunez, and Diogo Jota’s injury struggles are becoming unbearable, so a deal for Isak makes perfect sense, and the former Real Sociedad man has even left the door open for an Anfield move.
Liverpool supporters will have the chance to get very familiar with Isak over the coming weeks, when the Reds will face Newcastle in both the Premier League and in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
