Liverpool's chance to land INCREDIBLE double deal
Liverpool can use Alexander Isak to land a truly incredible double deal this summer. Will they be able to pull it off?
There's no real secret that Liverpool would like to sign Alexander Isak this summer. Why wouldn't they?

The Swede has scored 19 Premier League goals this season after scoring 21 last term. He's the kind of forward who barely needs service, capable of bagging goals out of virtually nothing.
He's strong, he's quick, he's tall, he's technically superb and he can finish. Isak has every single tool you want out of an elite forward.
Except for the fitness record.
As we've pointed out before, Isak does have those red flags that make a massive transfer feel a little risky. Actually, they make it feel massively risky but his record masks them somewhat.
You'd pay the money for 20 Premier League goals a season, in other words, and ignore the fact that he's not always available. The risk is in whether Isak's fitness record declines as he gets older.
Liverpool may not want to take that risk at the £150m asking price. They are, after all, famously risk averse.
But there's another potential plan here and it's one we think is quite exciting. A double deal is on the cards.
Liverpool and Newcastle to do business
Newcastle don't actually want to sell Isak. They'd much rather lock him down on a long-term contract, build their team around him, and push on for bigger things.
The problem is that they can't really afford to do that. The Magpies ran into PSR concerns last year that very nearly resulted in Anthony Gordon moving to Liverpool.
A string of other sales took that deal off the table but the Reds were very close to landing Gordon. Newcastle, though, would much rather be in a position to hold onto their elite players.
Isak tops that list and we think Liverpool can take advantage of that. Instead of moving for the Swede and paying out £150m for him, why not move for Gordon?
Newcastle would be far more inclined to sell Gordon this summer if it meant keeping Isak. However, just selling Gordon probably isn't enough.
Lewis Hall is also a Liverpool target, though. The Reds like him a lot and they're firmly in the market for a left-back this summer.
Fees for Gordon and Hall may actually fall below the cost of Isak. It would help Liverpool's rebuild massively, alleviate any homegrown quota concerns, and can likely be done quite quickly if it meant Newcastle could then enter contract talks with Isak early in the window to end speculation there.
It's an alternative route to go down if Liverpool aren't all-in on Isak. They'd still need to sign a striker, of course, but even in signing the forward, they'd then need to find a left-back and a winger - they're after all three this summer.
Here's a way to fill two of those roles, though. And we think it might end up being the smart way to go about things.

Whilst it is to be welcomed that it is finally starting to dawn on you that you can't afford Isak and he doesn't want to play for you anyway, spouting inaccurate crap about Newcastle's finances is pretty desperate. Having not made a major signing for the last three windows and selling off fringe players for good profits, the toon will be able to spend big this summer without selling any of the blue chip players. Suggest you focus more on how Liverpool will be able to afford to replace Salah, VVD and TAA when they all walk away on frees this summer!
