Garnacho price tag brings Liverpool deal back from the dead
Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho could be the key to one man’s future at Liverpool.
The 20-year-old is currently the topic of negotiations between Napoli and the Red Devils but talks are stalling and, although Man Utd are willing to sell, Napoli will have to meet their asking price.

Despite sitting top of Serie A, it looks like Napoli are set to lose Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who had been on Liverpool’s radar but now appears to be heading to PSG.
Understandably Napoli will be looking to replace their star man and Garnacho is reportedly Antonio Conte’s choice, but a deal appears to still be a long way off.
Garnacho to Napoli in doubt
In a report for SportItalia, Michele Criscitiello confirmed that Garnacho was Conte’s top target to replace the departing Kvaratskhelia, but that the two sides were around €15 million apart in their valuations of the player, with United demanding €50 million.
This means that a deal could be hard to agree and force Napoli to turn to their list of alternative targets, on which Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa features.
According to Corriere dello Sport, via VesuvioLive, an agreement could be close between Napoli and the Reds that would see Chiesa head back to his homeland for the remainder of the season.
“Napoli has frantic contacts with Liverpool for the loan of Federico Chiesa until the end of the season. The negotiation is at a very advanced stage at the moment and the closure could come in the coming days.”
Chiesa’s uncertain future at Liverpool
Although the Italian scored his first goal for the Reds in their recent 4-0 FA Cup victory over Accrington Stanley, he has struggled to find a place in Arne Slot’s side this season.
Since arriving for a bargain fee in the summer, Chiesa has only managed 168 minutes for Liverpool, with only 18 of those minutes coming in the Premier League.
A loan move back to his homeland could be exactly what the 27-year-old needs to rediscover his best form and fight for a place in Slot’s team next season.
If Napoli cannot agree a deal for Garnacho, it appears Chiesa could be the second choice and his first campaign in Merseyside could come to an early end.
