£85m Darwin Nunez could hold key to Mo Salah dream

It's a plan that might just work as the battle to sign up Mo Salah rages on. The Egyptian can leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

There's certainly plenty of interest in Liverpool players right now. Top of that list, though, is Mo Salah.

The Egyptian might just be the best player in the world right now. Despite that, he's struggling to earn a new contract with Liverpool, who are reluctant to pay big money to a player who turns 33 in June.

It's not a stance many fans will agree with (and rightly so in our collective mind). Now Salah is free to negotiate with outside clubs and naturally, there's interest.

Perhaps the most notable right now comes from Saudi Arabia. Al-Hilal would like to sign Salah, with certain reports even claiming a deal with the Saudi Pro League is done.

Now, that's a scary thought - and one we're not entirely certain is true. No massive, dead-certain source hs claimed it yet.

But we absolutely believe that Al-Hilal want to sign Salah. They'd be mad not to, for one thing.

And they might have a way of really sweetening the deal for him.

The Darwin Nunez bait

As exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch, Al-Hilal also want to sign Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan is potentially up for grabs this January, even.

But it won't be an easy one. Liverpool are asking for £85m to get a deal done this month - and Al-Hilal appear hesitant to pay it.

Though, they may be tempted to meet that asking price if it also lands them Salah. It could do just that, too.

Salah is a massive fan of Nunez and loves playing with him. His record with the striker is phenomenal, too, and there are few better players in the world to use as bait for the Egyptian.

A double deal really could happen, then, as Al-Hilal attempt to create a true storm in 2025.
