Liverpool put €60m deal in motion to replace Harvey Elliott
Stefan Bajcetic could be used as a pawn by Liverpool to get a major deal over the line in order to replace Harvey Elliott.

The Spanish U21 international has suffered a horrible couple of years. Breaking onto the scene in 2022/23, Bajcetic has since dealt with a difficult injury, growing problems and now a massive setback on loan.
Last summer when he moved to Red Bull Salzburg, it was supposed to be a new beginning for Bajcetic to kick-start his career in a red shirt.
However, in the end, it has proven to be anything but. The move to Salzburg has only stuttered his development even further with Bajcetic having struggled to make his mark for the Austrian side.
Despite working under Pep Lijnders at the beginning, Bajcetic was never able to break into the starting line-up and just six months into his deal, the Reds are now on the verge of cancelling his transfer.
Bajcetic puts into motion €60m transfer for Liverpool
The Athletic has reported that Liverpool have agreed to terminate his loan deal at Salzburg with Bajcetic keen to make a move away from his current loan side.
The report claims that the next destination for Bajcetic is Las Palmas, who play in La Liga. It's a move that could proof to be beneficial for Bajcetic, who will be playing in his homeland and hopefully being able to get regular minutes under his belt.
But there is another possible bonus for Liverpool on the line here because Bajcetic's move could have just set an exciting transfer in motion.
Last year there were reports linking Liverpool to Alberto Moleiro from Las Palmas, who has a €60m release clause. Moleiro has been likened to Pedri in Spain and could be a potential replacement for Harvey Elliott, who has been linked with a move away from Anfield.
Recently, Fichajes listed Liverpool as one of the top three most likely destinations for Moleiro in 2025.
Should Bajcetic catch the eye in Las Palmas, his new loan club might be tempted to keep him and that will increase the chances of the Reds landing Moleiro.
The Spanish midfielder is only 21-years-old, and he has 18 months left on his current contract at the club. By the summer that will be just 12 months left of his deal, which means Liverpool probably won't have to pay as much as his release clause to get the deal over the line - especially when they can just propose a simple swap deal.
It would make sense for everyone. Bajcetic probably isn't too fancied at Anfield, and a permanent move away from the club would make sense.
On the other hand, Liverpool will need a replacement for Elliott, if he decides to go somewhere else in search of more regular minutes and Moleiro could be the perfect option.
He's technical and direct and has all the best qualities to challenge Dominik Szoboszlai for the no.10 role at Anfield.
Which is why the Reds should continue to monitor him alongside Bajcetic for the next few months at Las Palmas. This could be the smartest deal of the year.
