Liverpool transfer news roundup: €200m Mbappe 'offer', Lavia latest

Here's a rundown of all things Liverpool on the rumour mill on Friday...

The Reds have seen a £68m offer for Real Madrid's Federico Valverde knocked back and are ready to return with more money on the table — or at least El Nacional made that claim earlier in the week and now the story is everywhere. I wouldn't get your hopes up about this one, Reds. You can read our full rumour breakdown here.

Moving from Spain to Italy and one Federico to another, Corriere dello Sport say that the reps of Italy star and long-time Liverpool rumour mill favourite Federico Chiesa travelled across the Channel on an "English mission", amid suggestions that the forward could leave Juventus this summer.

Also in Turin, Perr Schuurs (remember him?) is being talked up as a Liverpool target once again, this time by Tuttosport, who claim that the Reds have already had a €30m bid turned down.

Could Liverpool be looking for a defender closer to home instead? Football Insider claim Marc Guehi is on the radar, with Jurgen Klopp and co "ready to battle" Newcastle for the 22-year-old who could cost upwards of *gulp* £60m.

Think that sounds steep? It might be cheap compared to what Chelsea want for Levi Colwill. The latest reports from football.london say Liverpool have enquired about the 20-year-old centre back who spent last season on loan at Brighton. Chelsea want to keep their rising star however, having already rejected two bids from Brighton.

In a boost for the Reds' chances (we can dream), old footage has been recirculated of Colwill calling Gerrard his hero, while Twitter sleuths have dug up pictures of him in a Liverpool shirt.

Reports this week have suggested that Liverpool may look to sell before buying again this summer with both the Telegraph and Times suggesting Thiago's exit is an option the board are open to. Saudi Arabia is the obvious destination — read more about it here.

In the Spanish pass master's place could come Romeo Lavia. Jacque Talbot reports that Liverpool have received "positive indications" from the man himself after a chat with Klopp. Talbot's same report passingly mentions Liverpool's monitoring of Lyon forward Bradley Barcola.

But why go for an up-and-coming French attacker when you can simply bid €200m for the best one?? Finally, in news you can file under "simply not happening", El Chiringuito — yes, them — claim (in a five-minute clip that is mostly dramatic silences) that the Reds have made a €200m bid for Kylian Mbappe, because why not, eh?
