Milos Kerkez one step closer to Liverpool as left-back jets in for transfer

But perhaps the strongest links have been to the Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez. The Hungarian defender has impressed throughout his first two Premier League seasons, establishing himself as one of the finest in the division.
His form has led to reports of an onward transfer with Manchester United, Chelsea and the Reds among the teams in the frame to sign him.
And Liverpool perhaps have a couple of key advantages over transfer rivals for Kerkez. For one, there is the presence of Dominik Szoboszlai, a good friend of the left-back from the international set-up.
And then there is Richard Hughes. When the current Liverpool sporting director was the technical director at Bournemouth, he signed Kerkez from AZ in 2023.
Links therefore are well established between the parties and that could work in the Reds’ favour in any negotiations.
Julio Soler joins Bournemouth
And that brings us to this weekend’s intriguing developments with Liverpool now seemingly one step closer to signing Kerkez.
Julio Soler, a 19-year-old left-back from Lanus in Argentina, is about to jet in to complete a transfer to Bournemouth according to Argentine journalist Uriel Iugt.
It will cost the Cherries $15 million, a considerable outlay for an understudy, which suggests the Argentina Olympic Games star is coming to the south coast to play.
That could well mean Bournemouth are already making plans to SELL Kerkez soon.
Soler will sign a four-year contract at the Vitality Stadium with Bournemouth having seen off plenty of other suitors to secure the highly-prized defender.
In fact, Liverpool were VERY much in the mix for Soler last summer. Anfield Watch brought you news of a Liverpool bid for the player ahead of the Olympics, which fell apart owing to a disagreement over agent fees.
The club again approached Lanus and Soler over a deal in the weeks following the tournament but declined to complete a move.
Now, with Soler heading to Bournemouth and Liverpool eyeing a new left-back in transfer windows upcoming, it could lead Kerkez to Anfield.
Liverpool will have to fight hard to secure his signature but he looks a good fit to maintain a place in the Reds’ lineup long term. Over to you Richard Hughes.
