Diaz's dad makes startling Real Madrid transfer admission
The father of Luis Diaz admits he would LOVE his son to complete a transfer from Liverpool to Real Madrid.
Diaz, 27, is under contract with the Reds until 2027 but reports in his homeland of Colombia have suggested that he could be on his way out of the Anfield exit this summer.
Barcelona, Real’s Clasico rivals, have been linked with the Colombia international’s signature but a meeting between the player’s representatives and the Catalans recently yielded no positive outcome due to Liverpool’s reported asking price.
It was suggested to Barca president that the Reds would seek a sum of between €120 million and €140 for the winger, which was deemed “unfeasible” by Barca given their current financial woes.
It is unlikely that Real would be willing to meet that sum either given they already possess Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, and are about to add potentially the world’s best attacker in Kylian Mbappe on a high-profile free transfer.
Nonetheless, Mane Diaz gave an interview to El VBAR CARACOL in which he referenced other Colombian stars who have played at the Bernabeu and added that he hoped his son could follow suit.
“It was hoped that Luis could come to Madrid,” Papa Diaz said. “Falcao and James were already there. Hope has not been lost. He is playing and the clubs are active.”
Liverpool have got plenty of sorting out to do in the post-Jurgen Klopp shakeup with new sporting director Richard Hughes taking up the reins officially in June.

He will have to deal with the contract situations of players like Thiago Alcantara and Joel Matip, out of contract this summer, and also prioritise talks with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
Diaz has played 39 times for Liverpool this season, scoring 11 times and contributing five assists. However, he has faced plenty of criticism for his lack of composure in front of goal.
He has just come off international duty with Colombia, where he played 90 minutes against Spain last weekend, grabbing an assist in their 1-0 win, and he featured for just over an hour in the 3-2 win against Romania on Tuesday night.
