One player who has contributed to this significantly is Luis Diaz.

The skilful Colombian always seems to put his heart and soul into every performance and has provided some incredible memories so far this season.

But he himself is frustrated.

Contract offers with the Reds stalled after Diaz was disappointed with the wages being offered. He is currently sitting on around £40k a week which is the same as when he joined in 2022.

His dissatisfaction seems reasonable having contributed so much in his three years on Merseyside.

The winger reportedly wants to be on £150k a week but Liverpool are keeping their stance and won’t budge until at least the summer.

But his performances this season warrant some sort of reward, but it has been reported that one European club are hugely interested in the winger.

Diaz going nowhere despite PSG interest

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool have no plans of selling Diaz in the January transfer window.

The article states that “during contract negotiations in December, the Liverpool management, including Arne Slot, met with Luis Diaz and his representatives and told him that they were happy with his performance.”

Barcelona have shown a strong interest for some time in the player with Diaz even saying himself it would be a dream to play for the Spanish giants, but due to their issues with Financial Fair Play, this move seems unlikely.

More interestingly, PSG are said to have offered “€60 million plus one of their players” in exchange for the Liverpool number 7.

But the Reds are said to be “uninterested” in negotiating a deal like that at this stage.

Clearly, Liverpool want to hold onto Diaz. If he continues his good run of form, delivering consistently positive performances and winning silverware, there is no doubt he will reap the rewards with a new deal come the summer.
