EXCITING £83m winger DREAMING of Liverpool transfer
Borussia Dortmund’s array of young talent in the past few years has been nothing short of exceptional.
We have seen the likes of Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski, Jude Bellingham; there are so many to pinpoint.
The players listed above have gone on to do incredible things and win several major trophies for their respective clubs.
Now there is one star who is shining for the German giants who is reportedly eager on a move to Liverpool.
Gittens wants Liverpool
Jamie Gittens is a startling prospect. The young Englishman is showing top European clubs what he is made of. Having already bagged two goals and an assist in six appearances so far this season, there is no doubt that he is key to Dortmund’s plans.
However, all of that could change. According to CaughtOffside, Gittens would be ‘dreaming of going to a club like Liverpool.’
With a player of his vast potential, this will be music to the ears of Reds supporters. But with the recent signing of Federico Chiesa, and other wingers such Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo at our disposal it asks the question, would this signing be necessary?
The Reds may also be put off by the price of the player. The report also states, “Dortmund won’t sell him in the winter, but if a Premier League club is willing to pay €100m (£83m), they will open negotiations and let Gittens go if he wishes to. Otherwise, they’ll wait and keep educating him with the goal of increasing his asking price.”
With Richard Hughes and the Liverpool board being reluctant to pay big money recently, this could be a stretch for them with the money being used on multiple players instead.
The England Under-21’s player however was yesterday named on the Golden Boy list for 2024; a testament to his hard work and strong ability.
Liverpool may look at this as a sign of his brilliance. He has been labelled as the next Jude Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund with the English star hoping to follow in the footsteps of the Real Madrid midfielder.
There is no denying Gittens is an incredibly exciting option for Arne Slot to consider. He may not be worth the £100 million price tag now, but come the end of the season, it may be a bargain.
