EXCLUSIVE: The FULL lowdown on Omar Marmoush as Liverpool OPEN transfer talks
Liverpool are keen to sign Omar Marmoush potentially as early as the January transfer window.
The Reds have already begun transfer talks over a potential deal for the Egyptian and the move seems to be gathering pace.
Marmoush is in great form and he is regarded as one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga at the moment with nine goals so far.
That makes him the competition's joint top-scorer alongside Harry Kane.
But it's not just his goal-scoring that stands out. Marmoush's skills are multi-faceted and Anfield Watch has spoken with footballtransfers.com Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy to get an exclusive insight.

Everything you need to know about Omar Marmoush with Ronan Murphy
What type of player profile are we looking at here?
Murphy: Omar Marmoush is a pacy striker who can use his burst of speed to break defensive lines and create opportunities for himself and others. His close control helps him get past defenders, while his movement is suited to a team who like to penetrate the box early and create chances on the counter. Eintracht Frankfurt at the moment are the perfect fit for him and they funnel him chances which he is repeatedly turning into goals.
How would his presence change Liverpool’s attack?
Murphy: Liverpool are crying out for a clinical No. 9, and although Darwin Nunez is a hard-worker with plenty of highlight reel goals, he is not the most composed forward in one-on-one opportunities. Marmoush would be much more likely to finish these chances. He also times his runs well and rarely gets caught offside. Liverpool’s approach would not need to change to accommodate him, he just would be an upgrade at centre forward compared to current options.
His previous highest goal total in a season is 17 - he’s already got 10 and it’s just coming up to November. What changed?
Murphy: Marmoush always looked a talent, even when he wasn’t scoring regularly, winning two Bundesliga Rookie of the Month awards while on loan at Stuttgart from Wolfsburg. Both Wolfsburg and Stuttgart used him in a variety of positions, including on both wings and as a second striker. Since moving to Frankfurt, though, he has been almost exclusively used as a central striker, and this has seen a massive uptick in scoring chances - and goals.
He seems to be overperforming his underlying expected statistics currently. Should this be a concern or is he consistently clinical?
Murphy: This season he is overperforming his xG, but that wasn’t the case last year where he scored 12 league goals from an xG of 11.6. Frankfurt’s approach feeds him goalscoring opportunities, so that has led to the greater return in goals. He has averaged a goal every nine shots throughout his career, but this season he is scoring a goal every five shots with nine goals from an xG of 5.1. He has been using his pace more effectively to take up better positions and receive the ball in areas where he can do more damage. Holstein Kiel head coach Marcel Rapp singled out his threat before they hosted Frankfurt saying “It's not easy to just say, 'We'll defend him'. Should we double-team him? Also not so simple. A good player always finds the spaces. It's obviously difficult to keep a player like that in check.” It was not easy for Kiel. Marmoush scored twice in a 4-2 win.
If there was one game fans could watch to sum him up as a player, what would it be?
Murphy: Stuttgart vs Eintracht Frankfurt on November 10 will be one to watch as Marmoush comes up against his former club. Stuttgart are now a high-scoring team themselves, playing open, expansive football which also leads to a large number of chances for opposition forwards. Marmoush should be able to thrive in this environment.
