£70m double transfer opens door to MAJOR Liverpool deal
Liverpool are reportedly preparing a double transfer deal that could open the door to a major deal for the Reds.
Richard Hughes hasn't quite really got off to a great start as the club's sporting director.

The summer window was largely a frustrating one for the new Liverpool man, especially with the way the whole Martin Zubimendi deal transpired as the Spaniard decided to reject the Reds.
Meanwhile, we are yet to see Giorgi Mamardashvili in a red shirt and Federico Chiesa has barely featured. Those two being Liverpool's sole signings of the window paint a bleak picture on the club's summer activity.
But Hughes could be working on moves to redeem himself.
Harvey Elliott and Ben Doak double deal opens door to major Liverpool transfer
With the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) coming into effect, there is a much more emphasis on club's having to balance their accounts.
This makes it imperative to be able to sell unwanted assets for as much money as possible. And that is exactly what Hughes is planning to do at the moment.
Ben Doak is currently on loan with Middlesbrough, but it seems like Liverpool would be open to selling him in the January transfer window as they entertain bids from Crystal Palace and Ipswich.
The Reds are holding out for a whopping £30m deal, which could be a great piece of business for a player who is clearly not part of Arne Slot's long-term plans.
The other player who is subject of interest and who Liverpool would be open to selling for £40m is Harvey Elliott.
According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, Elliott is considering his future at Anfield and he has received interest from Brighton and Borussia Dortmund.
That could be another smart piece of business for a player who again doesn't seem to be very much fancied by Slot. Elliott's lack of minutes this season would suggest that anyway.
Ultimately, if Liverpool are able to strike a double deal worth £70m for the duo then that is a huge amount of cash coming into the club.
It's the kind of cash that could pave the door for Liverpool to complete a major transfer deal without breaching PSR regulations.
And perhaps land someone of the calibre as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
