It could be a busy transfer deadline for Liverpool as four potential deals are on the cards. Richard Hughes better keep his phone in hand.

The transfer deadline is nearly here. While many (quite reasonably) will have expected the transfer window to close yesterday, England's deadline is actually on February 3rd at 11pm.

Most elite European leagues will also see their deadlines on that day, although at 5pm. The Saudi Pro League shut their transfer window on the 31st, hence the flurry of offers ahead of the weekend.

For everyone else, though, there's more to come. And Liverpool will almost certainly be involved in one way or the other.

The Reds' window started loudly, in fact, with Real Madrid bidding for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Liverpool rightly rejected that offer but were quickly dealing with more bids, this time for Ben Doak.

Those, however, were rejected as well, given neither Crystal Palace nor Ipswich Town met the asking price for Doak. There may well be another late bid but as things stand, that's one to watch in the summer.

But Doak isn't one of the four players to keep your eye on heading towards the deadline. Here are the players Liverpool could be striking deals for.

Tyler Morton

It certainly appears that Tyler Morton could be off. TalkSport are among those reporting that West Ham United hold an interest in Morton and could bid before the deadline.

Morton was a surprise addition to Liverpool's squad in the summer, having spent last season on loan with Hull City. Everyone expected a sale or another loan but instead, Arne Slot kept a hold of him.

The fact Morton didn't face PSV Eindhoven in midweek, however, is a massive signal that he could leave shortly. There will be interest and this is one to watch very closely.

Kaide Gordon

Kaide Gordon was supposed to enjoy his first full senior season in 2024/25. Unfortunately, his loan at Norwich City was a disaster.

Liverpool recalled him this month and now there's every expectation that they'll send him out on another one. Though, it's not entirely clear where.

It's also unclear whether Gordon can still make it as a Championship player this season. Would a drop down to League One make more sense?

It's a big decision for Liverpool, given Gordon's one-time promise.

Jayden Danns

Arne Slot left the door open to a short-term loan for Jayden Danns after his appearance versus PSV Eindhoven in mid-week. The boss made it clear he simply doesn't know if Danns will depart or not.

"I don’t know at the moment, to be honest," said Slot on a potential loan. "But I think what I like most about him, and with most of the academy players, is the mentality they have."

Slot then talked-up Danns and is clearly impressed by the youngster. But the fact he didn't rule out a loan suggests Liverpool are weighing one up ahead of the deadline.

James McConnell

“These are also ongoing discussions we have," said Arne Slot on Friday about James McConnell and Danns potentially leaving on loan.

“You know how it is in football, yesterday can be different from today and tomorrow.

“If I can give you a certain answer now and – of course, we are not hoping that this is going to happen – if they then leave the training pitch and we are three injuries along the training session then it’s going to be a different answer.

“So it’s a process we are discussing a lot about and these decisions will be pushed towards the end of the window – which is almost there.”

So much like Danns, the door is open here. Liverpool could let McConnell go and get regular football over the second half of the season - so let's see what pops up.
