£100m midfielder confirms he is DESTINED to join Liverpool
Liverpool's midfield search is not over and a £100m midfielder might just be the club's next big transfer.
First it was Jörg Schmadtke who came and tried to lure an elite holding midfielder to Anfield. But he failed with Moises Caicedo rejecting the Reds in favour of a move to Chelsea, which in hindsight looks like a pretty bad choice.

Then Richard Hughes made it his top agenda to sign Martin Zubimendi and again it was to no avail. Zubimendi for some bizarre reason opted to stay at Real Sociedad to fight for a place in the Europa League rather than the Premier League title.
But perhaps third time is the charm for Liverpool because while Ryan Gravenberch has emerged as an elite midfielder in that holding midfielder role, he cannot be the sole option for Arne Slot.

That's why Liverpool will try again and this time around it's pretty much destined who they should go for because the perfect player in the market has just announced himself.
Why Carlos Baleba just confirmed he's destined to join Liverpool
Slot likes players who are versatile. He especially likes to use his holding midfielders as defenders from time to time, especially when Liverpool are chasing the game.
Ryan Gravenberch was used as a centre-back against Fulham recently and Wataru Endo has also played in that position during games that Liverpool had a lot of possession in.
This is why Carlos Baleba is an obvious choice for Liverpool. The Reds had wanted to sign him back when he was at Lille in Ligue 1 and emerging as an exciting young midfielder.
At the time, the tunnel vision was on Caicedo and Romeo Lavia which allowed Brighton to secure a coup for Baleba.
The Cameroonian has now established himself as one of the Premier League's best young midfielders and at 21-years-old he's destined to go very far in the game.
Recently Baleba has confirmed why he's also pretty much destined to play for Liverpool with his comments after being asked to play as a centre-back for Brighton.
"Wherever the team needs me I guess," Baleba posted on his TikTok when fans asked him if he was a centre-back.
"Didn’t wake up expecting to play centre-back, but once I’m on that pitch, it’s business.
"Held it down, even if 2-2 wasn’t the plan. Seen a few people getting ideas about me staying there… let’s relax, I’m still a midfielder at heart. That’s where I do my real work on both defence and attack.
"But if the team needs it? I’m showing up. Every time.”
This is exactly the kind of attitude you need to become a Liverpool player and the Reds have done business with Brighton in the past.
Football Insider has recently claimed that Brighton want £100m for him and that is a steep price tag. But it also means he is available and if Liverpool were prepared to spend that kind of money on Caicedo, they should absolutely do the same for Baleba as well.

The above report back that up and with Baleba's words confirming he's perfect for the Reds, this is a move that should absolutely happen.
