Liverpool tipped for swap deal which includes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The Mirror has claimed that Liverpool and West Ham United could potentially do business in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Reds have been linked with a move for Hammers winger Jarrod Bowen. It has also been reported Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be forced to explore his options due to a lack of playing time at Anfield this season.
The 28-year-old has only been on the pitch for 509 minutes of action.
With that being the case, The Mirror could see Liverpool and West Ham United swapping the players in the summer.
The newspaper has claimed the following: "(West Ham are) particularly struggling for back-ups in attack, Oxlade-Chamberlain could be the perfect remedy.
"With Jarrod Bowen’s future also undecided, a potential swap deal with Liverpool could be on the cards. Klopp has already waxed lyrical about 25-year-old winger Bowen and handing over the former Arsenal man could suit both parties."
Anfield Watch Verdict
We would not be against the deal taking place. Oxlade-Chamberlain clearly does not have a future at Anfield and Bowen would add some depth to Liverpool's forward line.
The winger has scored 27 goals and registered 23 assists in 103 appearances for West Ham United's first-team.
The aforementioned figures highlight that Bowen is quite a solid Premier League footballer.
However, we would be surprised if he would be willing to settle for a squad role. The reality is, Bowen would be behind the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
In saying that, if the Englishman came to Anfield and performed when he was given a chance, there is no reason why he could not work his way into Jurgen Klopp's starting XI.
Only time will tell if Bowen and Liverpool are to cross paths.
