Anfield's extensive redevelopments

Recent redevelopment works around the ground have seen the maximum capacity swell, meaning more fans than ever can get in on the action.

The Main Stand became one of the largest all-seater stands in Europe when it opened back in 2016, taking Anfield’s attendance past the 54,000 mark.

And the Anfield Road Stand reconstruction took Liverpool’s matchday capacity to over 61,000 this year with attendance records at the ground being broken since then.

In addition to hosting Liverpool during the season, Anfield now has a licence to host SIX concerts and other events.

Taylor Swift leads Anfield concerts

Some of the biggest acts in the world have played on the hallowed turf since concerts returned in 2019 in the shape of Take That, Bon Jovi, Elton John, The Rolling Stones and The Eagles.

And last summer saw Swiftmania come to Merseyside as Taylor Swift took her record-shattering Eras tour to Anfield for three sold-out gigs. Over 250,000 Swifties - including Jurgen Klopp and his wife Ulla - attended over three nights, with the money-spinning concerts boosting the coffers of the city’s businesses.

Not only that but the impact was so profound on the club finances that the gigs may well have paid for Federico Chiesa's transfer from Juventus.

Pink also played two nights last summer as she brought her Summer Carnival Tour to Anfield in June.

Next summer global superstars Dua Lipa and Bruce Springsteen are scheduled to bring their talents to L4, meaning additional income for the Reds as well as widespread financial benefits to the city as a whole.

Liverpool CEO DELIGHTED with concert deals

Speaking to fcbusiness magazine, club CEO Billy Hogan revealed his DELIGHT at the enormous impact the agreements to host concerts has had on the club.

"We think it is amazing that we can bring this calibre of artist to the city,” he said. “The more events we can host, the better for us anecdotally, but our priority is obviously to play football matches, so our calendar is extremely tight.

“Maybe we can put on events in early July in the future. We will have conversations about that, but the concerts have been an enormous success, all made possible by the progress we have made.”
