So who is Marmoush? Well, you can get the lowdown on the forward here.

In short, he’s one of the most in-form players in Europe right now, with 10 goals and six assists in the Bundesliga alone this season. Liverpool are right to want him.

And with his latest feat, it appears he’s entering GOAT territory. In fact, he already has.

Omar Marmoush is in with the greats

Marmoush’s big goal at the weekend was a free kick, meaning he’s actually scored back-to-back free kicks. That’s an incredibly difficult thing to do and Eintracht Frankfurt were quick to point that out on instagram.

They put out a post showing some of the players who have achieved this feat in major European leagues. We’re essentially talking about the greatest free kick takers of the modern era: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo (okay, that’s arguable), Ronaldinho, Andrea Pirlo, Sinisa Mihajlovic, Juninho Pernambucano, David Beckham...

We’d say ‘not bad company to be in’ but that’s underselling it - it’s literally the best company to be in. Marmoush is there with the absolute GOATs of free kick taking.

So if Liverpool needed another reason to pursue the Egyptian, here it is. Marmoush can seemingly do everything right now.

Whatever his price is, it feels like a bargain. He’s just that good.
