Liverpool reopen training centre

Liverpool have taken another step towards resuming normality by reopening their AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.

The Reds have been through the mill this week with a number of players and staff members testing positive for COVID-19.

Indeed, this follows on from Jurgen Klopp and a handful of players already being ruled out at the end of last week for the Premier League trip to Chelsea last Sunday.

In fact, such was the high case count, the club opted to close the training facilities down to try and limit the spread further amongst those there earlier this week, after liaising with Public Health.

Now, though, the good news is that the training base is back open and operational, with the club confirming via their official website on Friday.

Anfield Watch Verdict

This is a positive step.

It's certainly been a bit of a tense week for Liverpool with a number of their players evidently testing positive for the virus but it now seems as though things are, hopefully, starting to improve.

The club obviously feels as though the situation is under enough control for them to open the doors of the training centre back up and that is great to see.

It at least means the players that are available to train and that are not in isolation can keep themselves as sharp as possible, as we look to deal with Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup before another attempt at getting our semi-final tie with Arsenal in the EFL Cup underway next week.
