Liverpool waiting on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain injury news

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is far from the luckiest footballer we've ever seen play for Liverpool when it comes to injuries, that is safe to say.

The former Arsenal midfielder played an important part in helping the Reds overcome Brentford at the weekend with a 3-o scoreline getting recorded, with him on the scoresheet as well.

However, soon after he'd nodded home our second of the afternoon at Anfield, a collision in the box saw him sustain an ankle injury and he was forced off of the field.

Now, the wait begins to learn the extent of the knock with Dominic King reporting:

Anfield Watch Verdict

Oxlade-Chamberlain appeared to roll his ankle in a collision with a Brentford defender and that ended his game there and then.

It's such a shame, too, as he was having a good game and certainly getting himself in the frame to start at Arsenal at the end of this week.

However, there is every chance that he'll be missing the action at the Emirates on Thursday night, and hopefully he just won't be out for too soon.
