Liverpool star reveals INSPIRATIONAL story after LeBron James meeting
Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones shared a fantastic story after talking about his meeting with LeBron James. Jones met James from his courtside seat.
Curtis Jones took a trip to watch the USA Men's Basketball team in the summer while they held a scrimmage against Germany. It was in preparation for the Olympics and offered a unique chance for the Scouser to see some of the world's greatest players up close.
Jones, as it turns out, is a massive basketball fan but can hardly get across to see NBA games - the season runs just one month later than the Premier League's. The London scrimmage, though, gave him the opportunity to sit courtside.

He even met LeBron James, who is a minority partner in FSG, Liverpool's owners. The Los Angeles Lakers star continues to defy ageing, participating as the start of Team USA 21 years after his NBA debut.
Jones had a chat with James, while he explained exactly why he was so exciting to sit courtside.
"[We talked] about his game and that," he told LFCTV. "Like, it was good to watch it - I’ve been a big fan from a kid because I love basketball. And he was like ‘keep going’, this and that.
“Obviously, I was courtside as well, so it was a chance to see them up close and see the actual skill in the handles and all the little things like that. And how they move, how they set screens."
Curtis Jones on the NBA legends
Jones went on to explain just how big of an impact James and the rest of the NBA has had on him. As it turns out, he studied some of the all-time greats back when he was struggling with injuries.
“The thing I did a lot, I listened to stuff on like, Kobe [Bryant], on LeBron James, on [Michael] Jordan - on elite athletes around the world," he explained.
“There was a point when I was injured for a long time and I really took that time out to better myself and see if I couldn’t change me and make me a new ‘me’.”
Well, it appears to have worked. Jones returned from injury and continued to improve, recently putting in arguably his finest performance in the win over Chelsea.
He found inspiration in elite athletes to improve himself, even while injury - and now Liverpool are reaping the rewards.
