Liverpool kept up their flawless home record this season in the most dramatic of ways in the 4-3 win over Fulham on Sunday.

The Reds scored four goal-of-the-season contenders and came back from 3-2 down with less than five minutes of regular time to play to record their seventh straight win at Anfield in 2023/24.

Though ultimately a highly entertaining contest and positive result, the match highlighted the worst as well as the best of Liverpool, with some suspect defending leading to the visitors' trio of goals.

"I don't think I've ever seen a game with this amount of beautiful goals," Jurgen Klopp said after the game. "But, because we were a bit dumb, we almost gave it away. In the first half, when we gave the goals away, the defending was awful.

"Football is decided in the details. We were really good in the game and played a lot of good stuff, but it was 2-2 at half-time and deserved.

"They were there and scored a wonderful goal and it was 3-2 and everyone in a Fulham shirt thought that was it maybe, and then we throw back with two worldies."

Klopp and co have little time to dwell on the fallout of this chaotic contest, with the fixtures coming thick and fast this month.

For now, they will gladly take the three points as they aim to stay a part of the title race heading into the halfway point of the season.

LIVERPOOL STANDINGS

The win puts Liverpool up into second place after 14 matches played of the 2023/24 Premier League season.

The Reds have 31 points, two behind leaders Arsenal – who beat Wolves 2-1 on Saturday – on 33.

Liverpool's result meant they leapfrogged Manchester City, who drop into third (30 points) after they dropped points for the third game on the bounce with a 3-3 draw against Tottenham.

Aston Villa are the other side in the top four, with 29 points.
