Diogo Jota finished from close range, after Darwin Nuñez's strike was parried, on 31 minutes to give the Reds the lead.
The Portuguese forward, who now has seven goals in 2023/24, likely only started the game due to the ongoing situation with Luis Diaz's family.
Diaz sat out the match after his parents were kidnapped in Colombia. While his mother has since been found safe, the search remains on for the Liverpool winger's father.
After scoring, Jota held aloft a 'Diaz 7' shirt in tribute to his teammate.
Nuñez then finished from point blank range less than five minutes after the Reds' first – with Dominik Szoboszlai getting his first assist of the campaign.
The Hungarian got a second after the break as his long, cross-field pass was misjudged by Forest keeper Matt Turner who was caught out by the bounce as he ran out to intercept the ball. Mohamed Salah finished the move to make it 3-0 and wrap up a comfortable victory.
Despite a couple of late efforts from Anthony Elanga, Klopp's men held onto their clean sheet – registering their first back-to-back league shutouts of the season.
