Liverpool signed the NEXT Roberto Firmino for just £60m
If there are two players who have left massive voids in their absence at Anfield, it's probably Steven Gerrard and Roberto Firmino.

During the 21st century, they were two iconic figures with such unique playing styles it has made it impossible for Liverpool to replace them.

Firmino was the epitome of a false number nine, someone who worked tirelessly for the team and who put in the graft so others could thrive in the Reds' magnetic offensive line-up.
Now though Liverpool have another player of the same mould, a player who is delivering moments of class and also putting in the important work off the ball to make sure Arne Slot's side function seamlessly on the pitch.
And the incredible thing is Liverpool signed him for just £60m.
Dominik Szoboszlai fills Roberto Firmino void
A Premier League title clash at the Etihad. We've seen these before. Often times we've seen Roberto Firmino thrive in these fixtures too.
The Brazilian would played a key role in Liverpool's last win here at the Etihad back in 2018 in the Champions League. Firmino scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory that saw Liverpool advance to the semi-finals of the competition.
This time around, after almost ten years, it was the 'new Firmino' at Liverpool who delivered the masterclass. Dominik Szoboszlai is very much of the same mould as the Brazilian.
His off the ball work often doesn't get enough recognition. Yet it's vital for Liverpool's success this season.
Just as vital as his goal contributions. Especially, these ones against Manchester City with the Hungarian providing an assist and scoring an important finish.
For some bizarre reason, Liverpool's £60m (Sky Sports) acquisition has come under fire at times this season. Szoboszlai arrived with lofty expectations and he raised the roof during his first few months at Anfield.
Szoboszlai will be the first to admit he didn't quite get going in his first season at Liverpool. But now he's definitely starting to live up to the hype.
Against City he showed he can start to deliver in the big games as well. Tasked with playing as a false nine, he tormented the opponents with his runs with and without the ball.
The Hungarian was absolutely unreal and it's not the first time he has stepped up in a big game. He scored the League Cup semi-final and also played a key role in dismantling Tottenham in the Premier League during a 6-3 victory.
He's registered an assist against Manchester United and scored the final goal against AC Milan.
Admittedly, he needs to score more goals. That was always the criticism aimed at Firmino too. But there is no question about his importance to the team.
