Liverpool could look to sign Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham this summer after a deal for Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni feels increasingly unlikely.

According to Mail Sport, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Liverpool may turn to Bellingham to help solve their midfield issues this summer.

This news comes after the Liverpool Echo, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, reported that Tchouameni had his heart set on joining Real Madrid despite the Reds making contact with the Frenchman's representatives.

However, in Mail Sport's report, they claim it is unclear whether Bellingham is open to the move, and Liverpool will likely lack the funds to persuade Dortmund to sell having already lost one of their star players, Erling Haaland, to Manchester City this summer.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool need a midfielder this summer. The confirmed interest in Tchouameni also confirms that the Reds are actively trying to sign one too.

Also, with James Milner still yet to confirm his future at the club, the Reds could be losing a vital backup player.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also reportedly set to depart Anfield this summer with his contract expiring at the end of next season.

There has also been a report that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Naby Keita this summer despite Liverpool looking to agree a new deal with the Guinea international.

With all that in mind, the Reds could lose three midfielders this summer who are all in the squad every week.

Pairing that with the fact that Jordan Henderson is declining and Thiago Alcantara's injury issues, the Reds are in desperate need of a world-class midfielder.

Bellingham would be the perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp and this Liverpool side and if the Reds want him then they should move heaven and earth to sign him this summer.

If we leave it another season then it won't just be Liverpool interested in the 18-year-old.
