Liverpool set £50m asking price for suitors to buy IN-DEMAND midfielder
The focus for most of the summer transfer window has been on transfer incomings, but some of the team's current players will need to make way in order to facilitate such a spending spree.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is highly likely to leave the club for free upon the expiration of his contract, and while the Reds will be confident of re-signing Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk, they too are currently set to leave for free unless an agreement is formally reached.

In addition, a left-back is likely to move on in order for fresh blood to be brought in, Ibrahima Konate is subject to interest from PSG, Jarrell Quansah has been approached by Newcastle, Luis Diaz is unlikely to be presented with a new contract and both Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez are living on thin ice.
But even beyond these starters, it has become clear that there are some fringe players in the squad that Arne Slot simply doesn't rate high enough to given them regular minutes - Harvey Elliott and Wataru Endo, for example.
In the case of Elliott, while Liverpool fans adore him and will not want to see him go, especially because his commitment to the club is unwavering, Liverpool seem to be considering the possibility of moving him on.
Asking price set for Elliott as speculation grows over his future
In the young 22-year-old, Liverpool have an incredibly exciting prospect, who has been carefully nurtured and developed over the last six years since he made his debut at 16 years old in 2019.
He is neither a winger nor an attacking midfielder, although he has the skills to play both roles.
It is this dynamic and unspecific profile that has worked to his disadvantage since Arne Slot took over the club at the start of the season. His undefined position in the team makes him both an indispensable and intrinsically forgettable asset in the side.
No one knows what to do with him. In 650 minutes of play this season, he has four goals and two assists, which is around 108 minutes a goal contribution - hardly a disappointing return.
But his time on the pitch has been across 22 appearances, a mere 29 minutes per outing, so it is clear that Slot either doesn't rate him, doesn't trust him, or is just outright confused with what to do with him.
Throughout the season where is has come up with clutch attacking returns, he has reasserted his ambition to work with the club for a long time. Injuries have frustrated him, but he is not about to prematurely bring his Liverpool career to an end. He has a point to prove.
You might assume that his vendetta is one based on a selfish will tonsure his ego isn't hurt, but deep down, he genuinely has the best interest of the club at heart, which is rare nowadays.
However, the latest report from Football Insider is that while Liverpool see a full-time role for him, they are willing to sell if the right offer comes in - a figure that sits between £40m and £50m.
Newcastle are the main club who seems to be interested in a potential deal, which could sweeten the pot in Liverpool's hunt to sign Alexander Isak.
And it's a move that Elliott should probably think long and hard about if the Magpies' interest is serious, because the Englishman would be playing regular Premier League football.
However, the price tag is certainly modest and given the profit and sustainability regulation (PSR) constraints on Newcastle at the moment, Liverpool may have set the bar a little too high.
EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ENTER Hugo Ekitike talks
We'll have to see if anything comes from it, but what is clear is that the Reds will not be shy to sign off on some transfer outgoings alongside the highly rumoured incoming signings for this summer.
