From there Liverpool can send subsequent team data into the AI system to find out how they would likely deal with any given corner.
So how’s it worked out over the course of this season?
Liverpool score 7 of 230 corners
Liverpool have taken 230 corners so far in the 2024-25 season in all competitions per Opta data.
Of those 230, 201 have gone into the box. Andy Robertson leads the way on 70 corners taken. Next is Trent Alexander-Arnold on 56. Robbo’s left-back rival Kostas Tsimikas has taken 47, Alexis Mac Allister 25 and Dominik Szoboszlai 20.
Further down the list are Harvey Elliott (6), Curtis Jones (2) and James McConnell, Tyler Morton, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah on one each.
And of those 230 corners, Liverpool have scored from seven.
On 17 September in a Champions League game against AC Milan at San Siro, Virgil van Dijk put Liverpool 2-1 up just before half-time from a Tsimikas corner.
At Molineux in the Premier League against Wolves on September 28, Liverpool technically scored from a corner according to the data compilers.
Diogo Jota crossed for Ibrahima Konate to nod home in open play but as Wolves failed to clear an original corner and didn’t “get out”, it goes down as a goal scored from a corner kick.
In the 2-2 Premier League draw against Arsenal at the Emirates on 27 October, Van Dijk scored again from a corner to put the Reds level at 1-1.
Van Dijk leads the way
That was a delivery from Alexander-Arnold which was flicked on by Luis Diaz into the path of the captain.
During the comprehensive 2-0 Champions League victory against Real Madrid at Anfield on 27 November, Gakpo scored from a Robertson corner to double the home side’s lead.
Then on 14 January, Jota headed home from a Tsimikas corner during the Premier League draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
On 21 January, a Tsimikas corner against Lille at Anfield in the Champions League was cleared to the edge of the box and Harvey Elliott smashed the ball home to give Liverpool an unassailable 2-1 lead.
And on February 6, at Anfield in the Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg victory over Tottenham, Van Dijk scored yet again.
It was a delivery from Mac Allister with the Dutchman rising highest to put the Reds 4-0 up on the night.

Seven from 230 gives Liverpool a goals per corner kick percentage of around 3 percent. Whether they can get that total up before the end of the season remains to be seen.
