Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk have ALREADY signed claims legend
The saga of the contracts for Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold has certainly been the story of the season for Liverpool.
In and amongst being the best team in the world this season, sitting at the top of the Premier League at time of writing, finishing first in the Champions League league stage, and still being viable for a quadruple this season, the contracts have hung over like a dark cloud.

Anfield Watch exclusively understands that Virgil van Dijk’s deal is close, with his agent telling interested parties he’s no longer available.
Reports about Salah range from everything to him already having a deal to having already decided to move to Saudi Arabia and everything in between. Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, seems to be leaning towards a move to Real Madrid, although everything is still on the table.
But for Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, things are starting to seem suspicious. And he has his own theory on what’s going on behind the scenes.
Robbie Fowler thinks signings have already happened
“I do have a little theory actually and I don’t know if this is so far from the truth.” Fowler explained on his episode of ‘Ben Foster Meets…’ on Amazon Prime Video Sport.
âI just think two of them have signed already, you know, for some reason, and maybe one hasnât. But a simple fact is the club canât come out and say âyous have signedâ because it makes the other one look worse.
âAnd I think thereâs a possibility that may have happened⊠and because I think if two of them sign and then they come out and say âoh, weâve signed themâ it puts so much pressure on the other one, doesnât it?â
Whilst itâs pure speculation, Fowlerâs point isnât insane. Itâs true that a drip-feed of announcements, announcing a deal before either of the other two have agreed anything, would create an even more intense bout of hysteria than weâre already seeing.
The club are wanting to draw the least amount of attention possible to themselves whilst these negotiations are ongoing. There is a realistic scenario now where Liverpool win the league and any of these players could announce they are leaving on their own terms - on the Anfield pitch, Premier League winners medal around neck, thanking the adoring Anfield faithful.
Thereâs also a scenario where Liverpool have all four trophies stacked next to each other and all three players declare that theyâre not leaving, much like Leonardo DiCaprioâs character in The Wolf of Wall Street.
