Rio Ngumoha is one of the most exciting signings Liverpool have made in years. The 16-year-old was brought in last summer from Chelsea, with the Blues left furious at losing one of the standout English talents of his generation.

The Londoners even went as far as BANNING Liverpool scouts from their matches to avoid a repeat of the highly controversial transfer.

He has also featured in the UEFA Youth League and has even been called into the first-team picture by Arne Slot.

Ngumoha has been present in several first-team training sessions, with the club having to delete footage of him terrorising senior colleagues in order to keep a lid on the hype.

Ngumoha lights up England game

He made his first-team debut in January during an FA Cup third-round win against Accrington Stanley and has also been recruited to join the first team for an EFL Cup engagement at Southampton.

Things are going smoothly for the silky dribbler at international level too with his latest outing coming earlier this week.

England’s under-17s had their first fixture of 2025 on Thursday against the Netherlands in a friendly. The Three Lions won the game, 3-2, but the contest will largely be remembered for a piece of Ngumoha skill which lit the game up.

The Liverpool prodigy picked up the ball on his left-wing station and produced a sumptuous piece of skill which left two Dutch defenders in the dust.

He curled a beautiful effort towards the back post with his right foot but that shot was ultimately repelled by the Netherlands’ goalkeeper.

It was a reminder of Ngumoha's awe-inspiring talent, which will surely carry him far in the game.

Ngumoha’s presence in the game meant he missed the Liverpool under-21’s victory against Stoke City on Friday.

However, he will have one eye on making a Premier League squad before the end of the season and showing the waiting world exactly what he can do.
