Liverpool could make a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente, according to a report from Fichajes, as cited by TEAMtalk.

The report states that the Reds are monitoring the 27-year-old. Llorente's contract does not expire until the summer of 2027.

Therefore, the Spain international will not come cheap. Llorente is valued at €60 million.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Llorente has been a decent player for Atletico Madrid. The midfielder has found the back of the net 18 times and registered 20 assists in 108 appearances for the La Liga club.

Llorente is also in good form. The 27-year-old has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.72 across the 2021-22 club campaign.

As you can read below, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is certainly a fan of what Llorente brings to his side.

"The facts speak for themselves," Simeone said one year ago , as quoted by FotMob. "It is not necessary to praise [Llorente] when you can watch his movement, attitude, pressure and see what is happening to him.

He added: "He gives us a more important footballer in the team."

The aforementioned figures/comments highlight that Llorente is a very good player. Therefore, we would not be against Liverpool making a move for him in the near future.

The Reds are yet to replace midfielder Gini Wijnaldum. The Dutchman departed Liverpool and joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer.

Therefore, the Reds are a body short in midfield. Perhaps Llorente could fill that void.

He is clearly a talented footballer and he is at a good age. Llorente could ultimately represent the Reds for five or so years.

But, only time will tell if Liverpool and the midfielder are to cross paths at some stage. You just never know where some players might end up.
