Liverpool could make a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to Calciomercato, as cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account.

The report states that the Reds hold a 'strong' interest in the 25-year-old.

The report further adds that Borussia Monchengladbach could sell Zakaria in January to generate some urgent funds.

The Switzerland international possesses a current market value of €27 million.

However, Zakaria's contract expires at the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign, which means that he is soon to be a free agent.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We would love to see Liverpool make a move for Zakaria. The midfielder certainly possesses talent.

Zakaria has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.99 in the Bundesliga this season.

The aforementioned figure highlights that the Switzerland international would add quality and depth to Liverpool's midfield.

Zakaria, 25, is also about to enter the prime years of his career. Only time will tell if the Reds are to make a move for the midfielder.
