Liverpool have no plans to offload forward Takumi Minamino in the near future, according to journalist Carl Markham, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

The Reds signed the Japan international from RB Salzburg for a transfer fee of €8.50 million back in January 2020.

However, Minamino has struggled to get an opportunity since arriving at Anfield. The 27-year-old has only made 49 appearances for Liverpool.

Despite that being the case, Markham has made it clear that Liverpool don't have any plans to sell Minamino for the time being.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Minamino is a good footballer, so we are glad to hear that the club won't be selling him in the near future.

The forward scored 64 goals and registered 44 assists in 199 appearances for RB Salzburg.

Therefore, we are confident that if Minamino is given more of an opportunity to play for Liverpool's first-team, he could do some damage.

But, only time will tell if the Reds are to give the Japan international more of a chance.
