Liverpool remain interested in signing Watford winger valued at €27 million

Liverpool remain interested in signing Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, according to a report from Fichajes, as cited by Football365 on Twitter.

The Reds were linked with a move for the Senegal international back in the summer of 2020. But, the transfer never eventuated.

The report implies that Sarr would like to leave Watford in the near future and that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the 24-year-old.

With that being the case, the story further adds that the Reds could make a move for the winger.

Sarr's contract expires in the summer of 2024. Transfermarkt value him at €27 million.

Sarr is a decent player. The winger has found the back of the net 24 times and registered 17 assists in 86 appearances for Watford.

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane is certainly a fan of Sarr.

The 29-year-old told ​The Athletic the following back in 2019: "He’s rapid. I think defenders will struggle. Last time I was speaking to Robbo (Andy Robertson) I said 'Watford have a really good player. I will need to help you more otherwise Ismaila Sarr will kill you, because he is a good dribbler and very, very fast.'”

Mane added: "A bit jealous (Sarr is at Watford), because I won’t see him in Liverpool.

Sarr would certainly give Liverpool a bit of depth and quality. But, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not short of attacking options (Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz).

Therefore, if Sarr and Liverpool were to cross paths, it would be fair to assume that he would not be in the German's starting XI.

However, the Senegal international would still get an opportunity simply because Liverpool play in four competitions.

Signing Sarr should not be an necessity for Liverpool due to the attacking depth already at the club, but we wouldn't be against his arrival.
