Fans revelled with joy as Liverpool got one over Los Blancos for the first time since 2009, after a run of meetings that had been particularly painful, including both the 2018 and 2022 European finals.
However, one person in particular was filled with immense pride last night.
Slot's daughter visits Anfield
While at the game last night, Isa Slot posted an Instagram story during Anfield's rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone, which kickstarted a phenomenal atmosphere in the stadium that was paramount to Liverpool's win.
The Dutch boss' daughter was pictured in Dubai just a few days before the fixture, so it is highly likely that she travelled back to England, especially for the occasion.
Also among the stars present at the game were former Tennis professional Rafael Nadal, and former Real Madrid galacticos Gareth Bale and Roberto Carlos.
The win continued Liverpool's unprecedented record of success for a new manager, winning 17 of the team's opening 19 games of the season in all competitions.
Liverpool will be hoping to replicate their performance level in Sunday's Premier League clash against Manchester City, where the side has the possibility of going 11 points clear at the top of the table.
