Despite seemingly losing out on Omar Marmoush to Manchester City, the Reds have turned their approach to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.

They are also looking to improve in defence, where a 33-year old Van Dijk and recently-injured Konate are the only dependable centre-backs currently on the books.

One player the club have been linked to for months now is Sevilla’s Loic Bade - and it seems they could be back in for him in this window.

Liverpool back in for Bade

As reported by Sport Witness, relaying the print edition of Spanish outlet AS, it’s claimed English clubs are “betting heavily” on Bade in the January transfer window.

Liverpool and Newcastle United are named as the serious contenders for the Frenchman, said to be “closely monitoring” him.

Bade signed an extension until 2029 back at the start of the season and the newspaper is claiming it includes a €60m release clause. Yet it is claimed that “Despite this, the La Liga side are ready to let the player leave in this window for €25-30m.”

For a player as promising as Bade, seen as one of the most exciting centre-backs in Europe right now, that could represent a serious bargain.

He typically operates as a right centre-back, meaning he could rotate straight in with Ibrahima Konate to avoid overworking himself into a re-injury.

Sevilla currently sit 14th in La Liga at time of writing, seven points clear of the relegation zone. As a result, the chance to play for the current best team in the world could be more than attractive for the defender.
