Liverpool make SENSATIONAL Alexander Isak push
Alexander Isak is a footballer on everyone's minds at the moment.
The consistency and clinical edge in front of goal he has shown for Newcastle United this season has been incredibly impressive and his services are the envy of almost every club in the world right now.

Finding an elite striker who is already showing signs of being a reliable finished product is particularly difficult right now. Clubs are having to gamble substantial sums of money on talented players who are expected to go on and become standout assets in their positions.
But when you're trying to win trophies, playing with a centre-forward who is still developing can be a frustrating process. Liverpool have been dealing with this for the last few years since Darwin Nunez arrived on Merseyside in 2022.
As such, when the possibility of recruiting a player like Isak becomes available, clubs start lining up to speak to him to try and sell their project to him and force him to move away from a club that he's already comfortable at. According to the latest rumours, Liverpool might have an opening with Isak.
Liverpool are in position to sign Isak
FootballTransfers.com are exclusively reporting that Newcastle are pushing for a move for Viktor Gyokeres, over concerns that Isak could be poached by a rival club if the right offer comes in.
Isak's fellow countryman has been tearing it up at Sporting Lisbon this season, with 27 goals to his name already in this campaign across all competitions.
Previous reports suggested that Newcastle were the club who were most in pursuit of a move for Gyokeres, and he would undoubtedly be a valiant replacement for the Premier League-proven striker if he were to move elsewhere.
In addition, the report claims that while 'Arsenal hold the Swede in high esteem', it is Liverpool who are 'among his most persistent suitors and are best positioned to strike a deal in the future'.
It is well known that although the Reds have been explosive in front of goal this season, there have been some performances where cutting edge has been lacking.
Against Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago, it took a header from substitute Diogo Jota to earn Liverpool a point, and substitute Darwin Nunez scored twice in injury time against Brentford last weekend to steal the prospect of a draw away from the Bees.
Jota has been increasingly hampered by injuries in recent months, although his ability has been well demonstrated during his time on Merseyside and when he is fit, he is a player that Liverpool can rely on. Nunez, on the other hand, has failed to really make his mark since he arrived nearly three years ago.
His inconsistency and propensity to scupper big chances in front of goal have made him a love-hate player amongst the fans. At times he can be magnificent, delivering important goals for the team. At others, he can be absent for 90 mins, making it really difficult to defend his spot in the starting XI.
However, at 25 years old, Nunez is yet to enter the prime of his career, and it is clear that although he has struggled at Liverpool, he is a player who can be a difference-maker on his day. He could well thrive in a different environment.
Anfield Watch exclusively reported earlier this month that he has been subject to interest from Saudi Arabia and Liverpool even declined a £70m bid for him, on the premise that it fell short of the club's £85m valuation of him, which would equal the fee the Reds spent on him back in 2022.
If Liverpool were to be convinced that a move for Isak could be pulled off, then the opportunity to sell Nunez for such a substantial transfer fee would mean the outlay for the Swede would not quite be as much as you'd expect.
Luis Diaz is also at risk of leaving Liverpool this season because of a stand-off between the player and the club regarding his current contract situation, meaning he might be moved on before he enters the final year of his deal.
That would more than facilitate a hefty budget to sign Isak, there would be space for an elite striker to be brought in because Nunez would have been moved on, and a replacement might not be required for Diaz as Cody Gakpo has already shown he can excel in the left-wing position this season.
Whether the club can pull off such an ambitious feat, we will have to wait and see, but Liverpool are not one to sit still in the transfer market if the right move is on the cards.
