Liverpool ramp up move to replace Mo Salah with £25m Brazilian wonderkid
Liverpool may be ramping up what could be a momentous £25m deal to replace Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian's future is very much up in the air at the moment. It is moot whether Salah will sign a contract extension or whether he will run his current deal down and leave Anfield for pastures new this summer.

Right now, it seems more likely that Salah will stay at the club rather than leave. He doesn't have many options other than Saudi Arabia to choose from in terms of his next destination and that is unlikely to be appealing to a player in his prime.
Liverpool would be foolish to let him go as well considering Salah's performances this season. He might be turning 33-years-old this summer but at the end of the day, it's clear that he still has at least two years left at the very high levels of the game.

Of course, given Salah's age sooner or later Liverpool will have to replace him and it seems like the Reds are already lining up a move to do exactly that as they ramp up efforts to bring a Brazilian wonderkid to the club.
Why Liverpool's ramp efforts to sign Rayan could lead to him being Salah's successor
According to Rousing the Kop Liverpool have increased their efforts to sign Brazilian wonderkid Rayan from Vasco da Gama.
The 18-year-old has been on the club's radar for a while and the club have been scouting him for over two years. It is claimed in the report that the deal for Liverpool to bring Rayan to the club could cost around £25m.
This would be an interesting move to make for the Reds. It's no secret for years now Liverpool have tried to break into the South American market.
There were close calls with attempts to sign Andre from Fluminense and Rodrygo from Santos but the Reds have so far not been able to capitalise on the post-Brexit employment changes that have enabled more South American to attain work-permits in English football.
Rayan is definitely an interesting prospect. As a teenager he already has close to 50 appearances at senior level for Vasco da Gama. He is a left-footed right-winger, which is very much the same profile as Salah.
Although he might be more suited to playing as a right-winger in Slot's system because of his speed and his physicality standing at 1.85 metres.
There is no denying he's far from prolific at the moment. He has just five goals in 2024 minutes at first team level in his career so far.
But this season he's definitely become a lot more productive scoring in back to back games in the cup. He also netted in big games at the U20 Copa America, where Liverpool scouts were well represented as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch.
He has been quite prolific at youth level, too. For Brazil's U17 team, Rayan managed 11 goal contributions in 14 appearances, including three goals in five matches at the U17 World Cup.
If he can match the same numbers at senior level, there is no denying he could be a brilliant option for Liverpool. Given his profile, he's exactly the type of player who would slot into Slot's system.
Rayan is direct - he is capable of moving into central channels - a bit like Cody Gakpo on the right. He's also still very raw but clearly has a lot of potential.
In a few years, time he could be ready to succeed Salah at Liverpool and this move might just be gearing him up to replace the Egyptian in the future.

You bring him in now, teach him the basics, make him learn from Salah himself and get him ready to take over the throne. It makes perfect sense.
