How many points do Liverpool need to win the Premier League title?
Liverpool top the Premier League table - here's what they need to do to win the title.
It's been an unbelievable season for Liverpool under Arne Slot. The Dutchman has jumped into life at Anfield as though he's been around for a decade.

Things have been relaxed, they've been consistent and above all, they've been successful. Slot quickly got Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table and has kept them there.
What initially looked like a four-way fight soon became three. Manchester City have suffered a shocking decline, falling apart in ways a Pep Guardiola team never has.
They've attempted to fix that with a £200m January spend, though that hasn't been enough to get them back in the title race as of yet.
Chelsea appeared to be in the mix for a long time. They actually could have topped the table on Christmas day if not for a couple of dropped points.

They've now dropped out, too, leaving Liverpool with just Arsenal to contend with. But how do the Reds see off Mikel Arteta and co.?
Here's what they need to do.
How can Liverpool win the Premier League?
Liverpool can guarantee the Premier League title by finishing one point ahead of Arsenal's maximum points total. As long as the Reds are top, that will be the case (unless a team somehow overtakes the Gunners, then we'd need to look at someone else).
As of Sunday 23rd February, Arsenal can get a maximum of 89 points. That comes after losing 1-0 at West Ham United.

Liverpool are currently on 64 and have a maximum points tally of 97. That would be the joint-fourth-highest points tally in Premier League history - level with Jurgen Klopp's team that (ridiculously) failed to win the title in 2018/19.
But Liverpool will not need that many this time around. 90 points guarantees the Reds win the title.
That means 26 points from a possible 33. Liverpool can afford two defeats, in other words, and still win the title by winning the remaining games.
Three draws would be fine, too - if Slot can lead Liverpool to wins in every other fixture.

Of course, this all assumes Arsenal will win every remaining fixture themselves. That feels highly unlikely at this stage and Liverpool do still need to welcome the Gunners to Anfield.
That happens on May 10th but the Reds will hope to have things wrapped up by then. Otherwise, that promises to be one of the more intense Premier League fixtures of recent times.
