Liverpool bizarrely find themselves with three of their most integral assets at the club on the verge of leaving for free.
Alongside Trent, Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk are both also at risk of leaving, despite continuing to perform at the highest level for the Reds.
Fans would undoubtedly be dismayed should any of the three end up leaving while they are still highly capable of serving Liverpool's endeavour to be the best team in the world.
But, it is with Alexander-Arnold where concern is greatest, as the 26-year-old is still improving year by year, offering Liverpool a dynamic at right-back that every club in world football would be envious of.

Liverpool plotting Trent succession plan
Given the uncertainty surrounding Trent's future, the club have begun looking at the different options they could turn to at right back.
According to his new report in the Independent, journalist Miguel Delaney believes Liverpool are assessing Chelsea right-back Josh Acheampong.
While Real Madrid are the team most interested in the 18-year-old, both Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur joined Liverpool scouts at England's U20 matches this week to look more closely at the young international.
It is well-known that Real Madrid are significant admirers of Trent and should the Spanish side make the move for the scouser, Liverpool may follow up on their Rio Ngumoha scalp from Chelsea by attempting to secure the services of Acheampong as well.
Conjecture has been in full flow regarding Trent's contract negotiations and while his future remains unclear, it seems wise that Liverpool are aware that there may be a bidding war for the next big right-back talent.
