Liverpool player ratings as Reds demolish Manchester United 4-0

Liverpool have beaten Manchester United 4-0 in tonight's game at Anfield and here are our player ratings.

After another dominant display against United, which included a Thiago masterclass and a front three display that any side in Europe would be jealous of, here are our player ratings for the game!

Alisson - 9/10

Another amazing game by our number one. His distribution was on point and even though Sky Sports acted like he was going to do a Zack Steffen when a United player was closing him down, Alisson never looked like conceding.

His two saves against Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga were huge. Even though the flag went up, if it went in, VAR would've awarded the goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold - 8.5/10

A great game by Trent Alexander-Arnold today. He'll be disappointed not to be involved in the goals but his defending was key and he had Sancho locked down from the minute he came on.

Joel Matip - 8.5/10

A great game by Joel Matip, he started the second goal off with his marauding run and fast pass into the Liverpool forward line. He didn't put a foot wrong today!

Virgil van Dijk - 8.5/10

Another absolute dominant performance from Virgil van Dijk. 5/5 ariel duels won, 94% pass accuracy and zero goals conceded. He just oozes class 24/7.

Andy Robertson 8.5/10

Similar to every other defender, it was just a great game for Andy Robertson. He is starting to get a great partnership going with Diaz and that showed today.

Fabinho - 8.5/10

Fabinho was the reason why our defenders didn't have to do much defending today. Every time United tried to play through the middle, the 'Dyson' was there to clean it up.

Jordan Henderson - 8/10

It was hard to have a poor game today. Manchester United were dreadful and it was like we were playing a Championship side. Saying that, Jordan Henderson was commanding the players and he was starting the press for a lot of the game. More performances like this would be great from the skipper.

Thiago Alcantara - 10/10

Wow. I am still in awe of what I have just witnessed. That is possibly THE best midfield performance I have ever seen from a Liverpool player.

95% pass accuracy, 129 touches, 6/6 long balls, 3/3 dribbles completed, 7/9 ground duels won and three key passes. It was the complete performance from Thiago tonight. Definitely Man of the Match.

Mohamed Salah - 9/10

This game is going to do Mohamed Salah the world of good for the remaining fixtures. With two goals and an assist, he looked back to his old self tonight.

Hopefully, he can sustain this momentum heading into the Everton and Villarreal games.

Sadio Mane - 9/10

Sadio Mane as a centre-forward might be a masterstroke by Jurgen Klopp. He suits the role so much and a goal and an assist prove that.

Even though he's playing up top, you still find him tracking back and covering his teammates. A great display from Sadio.

Luis Diaz - 9/10

Unbelievable. His link-up play with Thiago is amazing, it's like the pair have been playing with each other their whole lives.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring tonight and provided an inch-perfect assist for Mane's goal. He's definitely cemented himself as a starter for the club and he's only been here three months!

Substitutes

Diogo Jota (on at 70 minutes) - 8/10

A great assist for Mo's second goal of the game. You can't ask for more from a 20-minute cameo. Even though he hasn't been starting as much, it's great to see Diogo Jota not visibly angry or upset about it, he's just doing his job and contributing to the team.

Naby Keita (on at 80 minutes) - 8/10

Maybe he was lucky not to be sent off but apart from that Naby Keita slotted right into midfield, he didn't put a foot wrong and helped the Reds see out the final 10 minutes.

James Milner (on at 86 minutes) - N/A

James Milner completed 4/4 passes. Well done Jimbo!
