Liverpool set to CASH IN as Man City eye Arne Slot REJECT
Liverpool have impressed since the arrival of Arne Slot in the summer, and the Reds are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Arguably the most impressive thing about Slot’s fantastic start in Merseyside is that he has only made one addition to the squad so far, Federico Chiesa, who has only played 78 minutes since his arrival.
The Reds’ new head coach has truly taken on the squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp and has encouraged a step up in quality.

Not every member of the squad that Slot inherited still remains at Anfield though, and there have been some departures during the Dutchman’s short reign.
The two major departures of the summer saw Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho join Brentford, but now another top club is interested in one of the pair.
Manchester City interested in Sepp van den Berg
In an exclusive report for Football Transfers, Steve Kay has revealed that Pep Guardiola has asked his club to splash out on two new defenders next summer.
The Spaniard’s Man City side are currently going through an extremely poor run of form, losing four games on the bounce, and now it appears that he believes the answer could be a player Liverpool sold less than six months ago.
The Football Transfers report claims that the two defenders sought by Guardiola are Brentford’s Sepp van den Berg and Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
It also reveals that Guardiola’s interest in Van den Berg stretches back to when the Dutchman spent time on loan at Preston North End, and claims that there may have been some interest from City last summer before the 22-year-old sealed his move to Brentford.
What could this mean for Liverpool?
Although it could reflect poorly on Liverpool having one of their biggest rivals signing a former player only 12 months after he left Anfield, it was the right time for Van den Berg to go.
The decision to sell the central defender wasn’t made as soon as Slot arrived, and the new head coach was given the chance to assess the squad fully before any departures were sanctioned.
The player was also desperate to move away from the club to guarantee more first-team minutes, something he has had no shortage of since he arrived at Brentford.
It appears then that Van den Berg’s departure was the right move for this summer, but it could still be awkward for the Reds if he were to sign for City and be a huge success.
One saving grace for Liverpool supporters is that the club inserted a sell-on clause into the deal for Van den Berg and therefore will be owed a share of the fee if the Dutchman were to be sold by Brentford.
