Liverpool won't believe Pep Guardiola's latest PATHETIC excuse after Man City defeat
Another weekend and another Pep Guardiola defeat. Liverpool fans would like to get used to the sound of that.
Manchester City despite tasted defeat to Brighton in what is Guardiola's fourth consecutive defeat - this is the first time that has happened since the Spaniard has arrived in England.
It means Liverpool remain top of the Premier League heading into the November international break and that will be music to the ears of Reds supporters around the world.
City's defeat has therefore put Liverpool in a great position. The last time they were top of the Premier League table during the November international break was back in the 2019/20 campaign when Jurgen Klopp's men were crowned champions.

Guardiola's pathetic excuses again
Last week Guardiola blamed injuries as the cause of his side's defeat. This time around the Spaniard has again bemoaned the absence of some of his key players, including Rodri.
"The young lad [Jahmai Simpson-Pusey] played really good [vs Brighton]. It's not easy for him. The young players usually come in with support from Rodri. He performed unbelievably and we have a central defender to help us for the future," he told reporters in his post-match comments after the game.
If any other manager was speaking this would perhaps be a reasonable argument to make. Missing the Ballon d'Or winner after all is going to weaken you.
However, this is Guardiola speaking, the manager of Manchester City and therefore his excuse just sounds a bit pathetic.
Why Guardiola's excuse is pathetic
Manchester City have spent a fortune under Guardiola to give him one of the most formidable squads in the world, let alone the Premier League.
When you have a team of superstars that he does blaming results on the absence of key players is simply pathetic.
Especially, when Guardiola was able to have the likes of Bernardo Silva, Kevin de Bruyne, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake on the bench today.
With that star power in the squad, he simply shouldn't be bemoaning the absence of certain individuals.
Liverpool will know that full well and Arne Slot is the perfect antithesis to Guardiola.
The Reds are missing key players, too. Including the likes of Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota - but Slot has never ever complained about injuries so far.
Guardiola should take note.
