Famous UFC fighter and scouser Paddy Pimblett has vowed to sell out Anfield for a live fight should it go ahead.

Pimblett is a well-known Liverpool fan who has always shown his support for the club but now he wants to take it that one step further.

He has already fought at Las Vegas in the USA multiple times but the pinnacle for him would be to showcase his talents at the home of the team he has loved all of his life.

Before has that chance though Pimblett has a big fight upcoming this weekend against American Bobby Green.

PIMBLETT HAS SPOKEN WITH LIVERPOOL CEO

Over the last few years at Anfield there have been plenty of events taking place as live music performances returned in the summer of 2019.

Therefore the ground would certainly be capable of hosting a UFC event but you have to go back to the 1930’s for the last time a fighting event took place there.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo Pimblett revealed that talks have already taken place with board members at the club about a UFC fight.

He said: “'I’ve spoken to people at Anfield about it. I've spoken to the CEO of Liverpool and they are all willing and happy to get it on. They want to do it.

“They've said it to me plenty of times. I sit in the Legends Lounge when I go to the games and I've been to the boardroom where the CEO sits and they want to do it.

“I'd love the UFC to get in contact with them and get it done.”

The 29-year-old has been known to have a confident demeanour whether that be about talking about Liverpool or regarding his fighting.

That has further encouraged him to get a fight at Anfield sorted as he said: “It doesn't need to be a title fight, I'd sell it out without a title.

“What's Anfield now? 60,000 and with seats on the floor 70,000, 80,000? I'd sell that out, I promise you now.”
