John W Henry, Liverpool's majority shareholder, apparently left people in Aberdeen in shock after arriving in the city over the weekend.

As reported by the The Press and Journal, Elysian, a 66-metre-long-yacht owned by the American billionaire docked in Aberdeen Harbour around 2.30pm on Saturday, although it's not clear as to how long it remained in the city.

Nevertheless, Elysian is a £66 million yacht built in Germany by Bremen-based company Lurssen Yachts and Henry acquired it in 2016 from Russian entrepreneur Georgy Bedzhamov after he became wanted on fraud charges in Russia.

Furthermore, at 66 metres long and 12 metres wide, containing an outdoor swimming pool, a spa centre, a gym and a helipad among its features, the luxury yacht ranks among the top five per cent of the world’s largest yachts, according to Boat International.

Aside from Liverpool, their Fenway Sports Group (FSG) holds the majority stake in New England Sports Network and Nascar's Roush Fenway Racing.

The reason for Henry's luxury yacht docking in Aberdeen remains unclear, but his presence in Aberdeen was certainly felt with on-looker @akawakeford taking to X (formerly Twitter) and posting: "What a bosker!!! 66m super yacht owned by American Billionaire John W Henry arrives in Aberdeen."
