Liverpool or Wolverhampton Wanderers will face Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

The Reds need to get past Wolves at Molineux in their third round replay to earn a trip to The Amex Stadium to face a Brighton side who cruised past Championship side Middlesbrough. The Seagulls won 1-5 at the Riverside stadium yesterday afternoon, and will be a difficult test for the Reds, should they beat Wolves in the replay following a 2-2 draw at Anfield.

A DIFFICULT TIE FOR LIVERPOOL

Should Liverpool progress into the fourth round, Brighton will not be an easy task for Jurgen Klopp's side, with Brighton sitting 8th in the Premier League table and De Zerbi having done a fantastic job since taking over the reigns at the Amex following Graham Potter's departure from the club to join Chelsea. The last time these two sides met was the entertaining 3-3 draw at Anfield, with Belgian international Leandro Trossard scoring a hattrick, in what was De Zerbi's first game in charge of the Seagulls.

A CHANCE FOR CAICEDO TO IMPRESS

A player who will be looking to stand out against the Reds should they progress is of course Ecuadorian international Moises Caicedo. As reported by Anfield Watch and Football Insider, the Ecuadorian "wants" a move to Anfield this month, so a potential tie against Liverpool could give him encouragement and motivation to show how good a player he has been for Brighton this season.

Will Liverpool struggle against Brighton if they beat Wolves Reds fans?

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool have been handed a tough tie. There's no denying that Brighton have developed outstandingly well since returning to the Premier League - and Roberto De Zerbi is continuing the good work left by his predecessor Graham Potter. The Seagulls squad is packed with talent, including the likes of Caicedo, Kaoru Mitoma and of course World Cup winning midfielder Alexis MacAllister. Even if the Reds do get past Wolves, Brighton will be a difficult challenge.
